For £42, the twin room was comfortable, clean and a good size, with everything I expected for a budget hotel, even a hairdryer. The shower was hot and powerful, and there were a few toiletries plus enough tea and coffee for the night. There’s plenty of free parking, too. Breakfast was great for £4.99 per person: a hot buffet, cereal, fruit, a croissant, and orange and apple juice. Tea and coffee were self-serve from the kettle, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. This isn’t the Ritz, but the price isn’t Ritz level either. It made a great overnight stop and was excellent value for its price range. I’d definitely stay again if I’m in the area.

The staff who were there did their best, but they seemed short staffed. Breakfast is self-service, and the cooked food was only just warm. I’d put it below Premier Inn, though it’s okay for a cheap one-night stay.

The staff we spoke to were very nice and welcoming, and the bed was okay. The pillow, though, was like a jail pillow, just without the waterproof cover. We stayed for two nights. The room was clean, but the bathroom wasn’t: there were pubes in the bath and an old used towel on the floor. It made me wonder if anyone had gone into the bathroom while cleaning. The shower was awful, with water only getting lukewarm at best. It seemed like about as much was leaking from the hose or side of the head as coming out of the front. There was also a raised bit of concrete with wires sticking out in the car park. We went out late at night, and while reversing in the dark, we drove right onto it because it wasn’t visible. It may have damaged our car, but we’re not sure yet.

The breakfast was VERY TASTY! I’d honestly give this 4.5 stars, and the only reason it isn’t higher is that whoever does the hoovering missed the spots you don’t step on. There was at least a finger’s thickness of dust behind the bedside table and on the bathroom vent.
