The White Horse

We tried the Sunday lunch on our first visit. The portions were hearty and the plates looked lovely, with great service all the way through. We were too full for pudding, but couldn't resist in the end. Thanks, we'll definitely come back.

The set menu was good value, and the portions were generous. We had fisherman's pie, veggie burgers and bread and butter pudding. Cosy place, with friendly staff.

I was a little unsure about the vegetarian holiday meal, but it turned out delicious. It was a rich, comforting mix of cashews and vegetables baked in what was basically a pie crust, with roasted vegetables too. The prices felt a bit high to me, though everyone liked their meal.

We’ve already booked to come back next year. The village was in a good location for us, and the rooms stayed quiet even with the window open all night. We stayed for four nights over a weekend, and the service was great. Breakfast had plenty to choose from, including food and drinks cooked to order. It kept me going until 4pm, though others might want to eat earlier. The staff were always friendly and helpful, including when we had a small problem late at night.
