The location is right in the town centre, and the rooms were roomy and comfortable. There was enough space for our large travel cot and still plenty of free floor space for gymnastics. We stayed two nights and had a fantastic time. Breakfast had lovely options and was good quality. The staff were amazing, I can’t say how impressed we all were. I’d 100000% come back if I need to stay in Bourne again.
The rooms have been renovated to a really high standard since our last visit. Staying at the Angel felt like being in a London boutique hotel, but for a fraction of the price. Every staff member we met was friendly and helpful, and breakfast was great. We had a lovely stay.
We stopped in for breakfast and coffee, so I can’t comment on the rooms. The staff gave us a nice welcome, and the table service was excellent. Breakfast was good and mid-priced. The scrambled eggs were among the best I’ve had with a fried breakfast, and the bacon was cooked just right for me. The sausage, beans and toast were okay. My wife had to take an important call just after the food arrived and stepped away. A staff member took her plate to keep it warm, then brought it back nice and warm when she returned. Such great service. We had a nice visit, and I’ll definitely stop in next time I’m nearby.
I stayed for work, and everything was spot on. The walls are quite thin, though, which comes with an old building and can’t really be helped. The staff and service were consistently high standard, and free breakfast was a bonus.
There are lots of thoughtful touches, from the quirky rich-coloured decor and smart all-black uniforms to the little logo'd stickers on the cutlery. It’s a beautiful building right in the middle of town, with very friendly, happy and attentive staff. The family who own it clearly know the business. The food is lovely, nicely presented, very reasonably priced and served in big portions. There’s even a homemade dessert and pastry counter. The menu isn’t overwhelming, but still has plenty of varied, well-executed choices for everyone.
