The Wishing Well

We were a group of nine, four adults and five kids, visiting on the bank holiday Saturday. The landlord greeted us warmly and gave each child a bubble wand, a sweet and some outdoor activities. They were overjoyed. We'd booked inside, but chose to sit outside because it was warm, and the staff were perfectly happy with that. There was quite a wait for the food, but everything was delicious and we were all pleased with our meals. They'd run out of fish for the fish and chips, though I believe there had been an offer the day before. The landlord also offered the kids free ice cream if they finished their dinner, and they did. All the staff were wonderful and made us feel very welcome. We'd absolutely visit again.

The Yorkshire puddings were impressive, and the roasties were proper ones. Had a lovely Sunday roast today, with nice seasonal veg. It's dog friendly too, and they even have treats for the dogs.

Spent the night at the campsite and the staff were lovely and really helpful. It's a beautiful traditional pub with great customers, and both the beer and food were 100 percent. Definitely recommend.

The food was excellent, but the service was disappointing. They made several mistakes with both our order and the bill. We stayed two nights while visiting friends nearby. The room was clean and reasonably well decorated, though the washbasin was so tiny that it was difficult to use.
