Fisherman's walk park is a lovely community path, with big beautiful trees and squirrels running everywhere. There are plenty of dog walkers, bins and benches, especially by the pond, which is full of tadpoles. At the end, there’s a lovely fountain in summer, and the path leads to beautiful Southbourne beach. They hold all sorts of summer events here, including the shakw and stir fest and Halloween trails. Be polite, say hello, and you could sit here for hours.
A really beautiful walk along Fisherman's walk, with lots of wildlife and squirrels all over the place. There are toilets at the far end by the road, and a lovely pond with flowers. They have bands and events at the bandstand a lot in summer. It’s dog friendly, but dogs need to be on leads and can’t go in the pond.
The Wonderdomes by Michele O’Brien were what finally made me stop and think about Fisherman’s walk, though there’s something going on there all year. It links Southbourne Grove with Fisherman’s walk beach, but it’s much more than a shortcut. The path curves past a lake, pergola, wood carvings, sculptures and bandstand, with all the flourishing plants and wildlife too. I’d enjoyed walking through before without really giving it much thought.
A lovely spot. From Southbourne high street, it’s only a short walk up to the clifftop road.
