The old Burlington Hotel has quite a history. Sir Henry Drummond Wolff had it built in 1868 in the Italian Renaissance style, with 200 bedrooms and gardens running down to the seafront. It’s now been renovated and divided into luxury apartments, though plenty of the original character is still there. The entrance hall is especially impressive, with its chandelier, fireplace and concierge’s office.

Everything was spotless and well presented, with little extras such as cereal and sweets. The apartment had all we needed, and the owner was attentive and helpful. A superb place to stay, fully recommended.

The residents and local people were so friendly, and the place itself was beautiful and peaceful. My husband and I came to Burlington Mansions for a couples getaway and had a stay we’ll remember. We’ll definitely visit again!

Such a lovely, clean place, and the people were friendly. Best week away I’ve had in ages.
