Laguna Hotel

The staff were friendly and helpful the whole time, and I was glad to get the room keys before the official check-in time. The pool was decent and enjoyable too. For the price, I can’t complain, though the room could do with some maintenance. At night, creaking floors from other rooms kept my family awake.

Free parking and a spot close to the town centre make this a good place to stay. I’ve been three times, and every room I slept in was missing a socket by the bed. The rooms need updating, and the bathroom is tiny. A shower would work much better than a bath.

At £140 for two nights in a room for three, it felt expensive for what you get. For a little more, you could find a nice Airbnb with separate bedrooms, a full kitchen, and a proper bathroom. The hotel’s dated, with an old smell as soon as you walk in. It was clean enough overall, but the room showed its age: the toilet roll holder was coming off the wall, and there were dirty glasses left out. The beds weren’t great for sleeping. The shower pressure was high, though the stream was so narrow it felt odd. It’ll do if you just need somewhere to crash, but the place needs a refresh.

The rooms were tiny and smelled bad. After checking in, we lasted two hours before booking another hotel. A hospice would’ve been nicer. Honest review, I wouldn’t stay even one night. If you’re desperate for a room, don’t go there.
