Bishop's Gate Hotel

The food was excellent, and the waiting staff, especially Clara, were so lovely. The desk team were wonderful too, particularly Niamh and Robyn, who were helpful and accommodating with our 18-month-old. We had to postpone our trip because of illness, and they were so understanding and made sure nothing was a problem. We'll be back again and again!

We arrived for food at 7.15pm on 26th Feb and asked for a table in the bar so we could order from the bar menu. We were seated there, but were refused the bar menu and given the restaurant menu instead. From the "Signature Dish" section we ordered, only to be told they had no tomahawks. Not much of a signature dish when they can't offer it. The server also walked away without taking our sides or sauces. By 8.20pm, after waiting an hour, we asked whether our food would be coming soon. We were left for another five minutes without any idea when it would arrive. At 8.25pm, we still had no food, no drinks, and no apology for the wait or offer of more drinks. We had no choice but to pay for our drinks and leave. The service was awful.

The spacious, comfortable rooms and relaxed atmosphere made this a great place to stay. We enjoyed good food, nice drinks, and time chatting with family and friends. I found the car valet service really useful, especially the option to charge electric vehicles for a small fee. The staff were amazing. Patrick, Niamh, Clare, and Robyn made us feel welcome, and their advice on things to do and places to go was very helpful. It's a fantastic hotel, and we'll definitely return.

We stayed in one of the apartments while attending a family event at the hotel, and everyone there made us feel welcome and looked after. The location was ideal for exploring the maiden city. I couldn't find fault with the experience, and would definitely return. A must-stay in a city worth seeing.
