Southern Breeze Lodge

The owners were so welcoming during our two-night stay in March, and nothing seemed like a bother to them. Our clean, lovely room also had a fridge. There was plenty to choose from at breakfast, and the location was nice. We walked into Bournemouth, a fair stroll but an enjoyable one, and found some nice pubs nearby.

The location is handy, just minutes from the beach, shops and restaurants, and I’d certainly stay again next time I’m in Bournemouth. Elizabeth and Noel clearly enjoy running their bed and breakfast, and it shows in the care they put into it. They’re great hosts who make you feel welcome. Our bright, very clean room had a lovely seaside theme, plus a good choice of teas, coffee and local biscuits. Breakfast was tasty, with a superb range to pick from, and Elizabeth’s scrambled egg was delicious. They also left homemade cakes in the room each afternoon. We had a very enjoyable stay. Our room was clean and well equipped, the hosts gave us a warm, friendly welcome, and breakfast was amazing. There was also a little sweet treat in the afternoon. The sea is a two-minute walk away, and there’s a great street for eating nearby.

We only had one complaint, having to leave and go home! This place is spotless and feels like a real home from home. The attention to detail and all the little touches make it special. The breakfast menu has loads of choice, everything was cooked really well, and Elizabeth’s jams and marmalade are a real treat. Noel has a very dry sense of humour and is actually very entertaining. Elizabeth keeps him in line, though I think he enjoys it! What a stunning place with great hosts. I’d say 100%, but it deserves more. We hope to return next year and try to book seven nights this time. Can’t wait.
