The East Cliff Cottage Hotel

The cooked breakfast was decent, and the owner was cheerful and welcoming. Our room was huge, with a lovely bathroom that had just been remodelled. But the hotel needed at least a major paint job, and breakfast was spoiled by how much we could hear the husband and wife arguing in the morning. I wouldn’t return.

We had a lovely breakfast and found the staff great. It’s a family run hotel, and the host was full of useful information about the local area. The beach and town centre are around a 10-15 minute walk away. A great place to stay, and I’d recommend it.

Breakfast was superb, with good quality produce, and they made our dog feel welcome too. There’s off-road parking at a fair price. Our hosts were wonderful and welcoming. The room was spacious and very clean, the en suite spotless, and the shower excellent. I’d highly recommend staying here.

Breakfast had something for everyone, all served with care and without fuss. There were prunes, fruit, grapefruit, yoghurt, jam, marmalade, grains, cereals, croissants and toast, plus a full English and smoked kippers. The kippers looked tempting, maybe next time. We chose the full English, with fried bread, and it was glorious. We’ll no doubt stay again. This is a small, family run hotel on a very quiet road, set back from the beach. They love dogs, and the attention to detail was clear from the personal welcome and reserved parking space to the spotless room. We all slept well in a comfortable bed. The shower, heating, TV and tea and coffee facilities all worked properly. Everything was just right for a lovely night away.
