The Grove Hotel

We stayed in room 29 on 14/5/26, overlooking the beautiful gardens. The staff were pleasant and friendly, breakfast was tasty and the service was excellent. We’d definitely stay again.

It’s easy to walk to the sea, and we found the rooms a good size and very clean. Breakfast was good, with plenty of choice. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and they work hard to make sure you have a good break. The pillows were my one small gripe, so I’d bring my own next time. There was also only one bedside table. Good value for money.

We booked direct this time, which saved us the £10 parking fee. This was our second stay this year, and we’ll be back. Roberto and the team make a real effort to give guests a warm welcome and a pleasant visit. Both evenings we had the lounge to ourselves while enjoying a drink from the bar. It’s always cozy and warm, and there’s a pool table for anyone who wants to play. The bedrooms are a good size, with tea and coffee facilities and a smart TV. The bathrooms are good, too. Our shower was smaller this time, but still clean and fine for us. Breakfast is cooked to order when it’s quieter, and you can help yourself to cereal, juice, fruit and toast. Looking out over the garden at the squirrels is a lovely way to start the day. Thank you, see you again soon.

We didn’t have breakfast, though it looked very good. The lift was a welcome bonus, and Roberto and Eon were especially accommodating to us oldies. Telma and the rest of the housekeeping team kept our room clean. It was a quiet, roomy twin in late November, and warm, very warm if you turned the radiator up too high! We spent time in the lovely conservatory playing cards and watching squirrels find their nuts in the good-sized garden. Thanks so much, we’ll definitely see you again.
