This was my third stay, for surgery at Bournemouth hospital. Reception noticed I was on crutches and moved me to a ground-floor room, which was a great help. It was clean, quiet, and had a comfortable bed. I slept better than I have in a long time. The only thing missing for me was a mini fridge. I’d stay for a holiday if one were provided. It’s well located for the New Forest, Christchurch and Bournemouth.

For an early flight, the 10-minute drive to the airport made this Travelodge Cooper Dean, Bournemouth a convenient choice for our one-night stay. It’s just off a main road and out of town. Reception was clean, quiet and tidy, and the room was spotless, with cotton sheets, comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities, and a pristine bathroom stocked with plenty of toilet roll, soap and shower soap/shampoo. Security doors throughout need an allocated fob. We were on the third floor; there’s no lift, but the stairs are wide, which helped with our cases. Good value, and I can’t report any negatives. The Toby carvery and a Burger King are right next door, so there are a couple of nearby food options.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable, and the hotel is good value, especially for early flights with the airport only a 10-minute drive away. We’d asked for a cot, but its mattress was so thin that the metal bars underneath could be felt. My baby cried whenever I put her in it, so we folded a quilt underneath to make it more comfortable for her. We were also given an upstairs room, which was awkward with four suitcases and a buggy since there’s no lift. The receptionist said the hotel was full and we hadn’t requested a ground-floor room, so they couldn’t move us. I’d use the hotel again, but next time I’ll request a GF.

A quiet place for an overnight stop, with free guest parking and accommodation at Travelodges' usual consistent standard. It’s just off the main road into Bournemouth, near a busy spur road, but the site stays pretty quiet at night. There’s a drive thru Burger King and an Esso petrol station right beside it. Finding the entrance is the awkward part. The access road is shared with other businesses, and the signs mostly point to the adjacent Toby Restaurant without making it clear the slip road also serves Travelodge. It’s easy to miss on the busy dual carriageway, and the U turn isn’t straightforward.

We stayed one night for a nearby family event and booked an early check-in. A lovely woman welcomed us, and reception was clean, quiet and tidy. Our room was spotless, with cotton bed linen, comfortable beds, tea and coffee facilities, and a clean bathroom with plenty of toilet roll, soap, shower soap/shampoo, towels and a foot mat. The shower was powerful, with hot, soft water. Although our room faced the main road, we only heard it when listening for it, and both slept extremely well. We were on the third floor. There’s no lift, but the wide staircase was manageable, and the security doors throughout require an allocated fob. Check-out was at noon, so there was no rush. Swapna at reception was pleasant when she checked us out. Good value and a very good hotel choice, with no negatives for us. The Toby carvery is next door. We stopped for a drink and found it very clean, with welcoming front-of-house staff and pleasant bar staff. We didn’t eat there, though the food looked and smelled delicious. For breakfast we went to the Harvester across the main road. The walk was easy with plenty of pedestrian crossings; it was clean and tidy, the staff were lovely, and the full English was great.
