Haus Serviced Living

Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with fresh, clean bed linen and a comfortable mattress and pillows. There were tea and coffee things, but no milk or hand soap, and although two of us were booked, we had just one towel for washing and showering. The room had been partly cleaned, but sections of the floor felt sticky and gritty, and there was some kind of pill on it. The booking communication wasn't great. There was no phone number or email address, just self check-in details by text the day before. There's no car park, so we had to try to find a space on the narrow road, and parking restrictions are worth watching, especially with heavy bags. On arrival, it felt like we'd walked into someone's house: shoes on a rack, a fridge full of food in the shared lounge and stocked cupboards. The lobby and first landing smelled as if someone had been smoking, though there were plug-in air fresheners. The dishwasher didn't work and there was no washing-up liquid. It served its purpose for a short weekend break, and might be okay for the odd night. Just be ready to be under-equipped and mostly fend for yourself. It's not advertised as a hotel, so it does what it says on the tin.
