Gramarcy House

I've stayed at The Grammarcy several times over the years, and I'm glad the recent reviews are as glowing as Agnes deserves. She's always helpful and accommodating, and her rooms and home are beautiful, clean and comfortable. We're waiting until I get a new hip before visiting again, but I'm already looking forward to that breakfast!

Agnes made our stay feel personal from the start, with a warm welcome and useful local tips tailored to our plans. Gramarcy House sits at the end of a quiet drive, close enough for an easy walk to Brechin’s centre and cathedral. There’s free private parking, though we didn’t need to use it. We loved the calm garden and shared spaces in this historic sandstone villa. Our room was roomy, spotless and tastefully furnished, with a comfortable bed, soft towels, an en-suite, tea and coffee facilities, a TV, heating and toiletries. It was wonderfully quiet at night. Breakfast was freshly prepared with local ingredients, including a made-to-order full Scottish breakfast, and served in a cozy room overlooking the garden. Agnes’s hospitality and all the thoughtful touches made this a memorable five-star stay. We’d happily recommend it.

The room was warm, spotless and looked out onto a nice view. Breakfast was amazing, and Agnes couldn’t have been more helpful. The house is only a minute’s walk from the town centre, yet its tucked-away setting feels like the countryside. We’ll definitely stay again.

Agnes made us feel welcome, even offering tea or coffee when we got back from a day out. The place was spotless and lovely. We’d gladly come back.
