The Castle of Brecon Hotel

Lisa at reception went out of her way to help us book a canal tour, and James in the restaurant was always cheerful, smiling and helpful. Service has been what impressed us most across our seven-week UK tour, and The Castle of Brecon was a lovely stop. The decor is quirky and opulent, the room was quite big, and the bathroom had great amenities. We’ve booked three more Coach Inn hotels around the UK because we’ve enjoyed staying with the group so much.

We often come here for lunch. The food is always fabulous, and the team are very helpful. The hotel has been beautifully refurbished, with lovely public rooms. We also like that dogs are welcome in certain areas, and completely respect that they’re not allowed in some others.

We had a fabulous meal and a truly lovely afternoon, and we'll be back. The place was very dog friendly, which we appreciated. I was there with my 93-year-old Mum and my new rescue dog, who is still learning about the big wide world. Though it was a warm day, we chose lunch inside because it was quieter for the dog, and the lounge was cool and quiet. Gavin was very happy there. Mum needed the ladies' room, which was a little out of sight, but Gabby walked her there, checked she was okay and brought her back to us. Gabby also served us and was a delight, so helpful, happy and dedicated. I worked in the 5* hotel sector for many years, and she's a real asset to the team. Toby helped Mum into the lounge, made us comfortable, then came back to check on us too. He’s an asset as well. Thank you so much!

Sue in the breakfast room was fun and very attentive, and the bar staff, receptionists and management were all happy to help, even stepping into another role when we needed something. The hotel is beautiful, with lovely, very clean rooms. The staff we met were the best part.
