Food came quickly, tasted good, and was genuinely affordable. There are meal deals with a drink for a good price too. It’s a lively, busy pub with plenty of people and a great atmosphere. Pints were surprisingly cheap as well, around £1.99 from Monday to Wednesday. A good choice for food and drinks without spending much.

I had a comfortable room for the night and could use its mugs in the restaurant. The boneless chicken basket and drinks were good, and breakfast the next morning was good too. When I lost track of my phone, the staff kindly kept it safe for me. I’d recommend this place and may come back.

Good food at a reasonable price, and you get what you get with spoons. I’ve visited lots of wetherspoons around Wales and a few in England, and Bridgend is honestly one of the better ones. Some others are much louder, dirtier or smellier. The main drawback is the building, which doesn’t have the character of places like Aberystwyth, North Wales. That’s not something they can help, so I haven’t marked it down.

The food was as expected and the tables were clean, with excellent service. I enjoyed the BBQ Chicken. My wife had the Katsu Quorn and said it didn’t have much taste.

We had breakfast, which arrived hot and quickly, just right for starting the day. The tables were clean and the service efficient. Sue was lovely to chat with and served us with a smile.
