The Woodberry

The Woodberry Inn has a lovely garden and entertainment area for both adults and children, and it’s a lively place that the locals clearly love. It feels like the heart of the surrounding community, just what a local pub should be. There are great beers and wines, decent pub food, and friendly, attentive, professional staff to look after you. We love it and only wish we lived closer. Enjoy it and treasure it. x

The food we were served was good, but the menu changes were disappointing. I picked and booked this restaurant based on the menu shown on its website. When our party of 10 arrived, the menu was different, some of the food choices had changed, and the two-course offer advertised at £20 actually cost £24.50. They also started clearing the table before everyone had finished eating.

My brother Gurj was stranded in his van for over seven hours in the treacherous weather, waiting for his work recovery service, which couldn’t reach him. I’m incredibly grateful to all the staff, especially Poppy, who went above and beyond to give him warmth, food, and a cosy bed. Thank you so much. It’s in moments like this that you see people’s kindness and what we’re made of. May the Lord King Jesus Christ bless you all abundantly. It’s a lovely hotel for a pleasant stay. After praising them earlier this year for a lovely light lunch, I was disappointed by Sunday lunch this time. The main meal wasn’t particularly hot, and the vegetables didn’t have much flavour. The lemon tart was meant to come with raspberry coulis, but instead had a sad, pale-looking strawberry that looked dead. The Creme Brulee was like sloppy, uncooked custard with no caramelised top. They apologised, removed the desserts from the menu, and took them off the bill. It’s a shame the chef doesn’t taste what’s being served. Please try harder.
