We only stayed one night at The Poplar, and left feeling rested and pleased with the service. The continental breakfast was much more than we expected. When we arrived, a lovely woman explained everything and showed us to a really comfortable room. I’d definitely recommend it, especially for a short stay with family.

Really charming place in a lovely village, and the staff were lovely too. I was in the area for a family engagement and had a great stay. There was lots of parking, my room had everything I needed, and I enjoyed chatting with the staff. Breakfast porridge was a nice touch. Very reasonably priced.

The food and service were both excellent, and the whole stay was memorable. It’s a family-run hotel with old-fashioned charm and modern comforts. Everyone was warm and attentive, and you can tell they take real pride in what they do. Highly recommended.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, with plenty of towels and toiletries in the en-suite. I was working nearby and didn’t know the area, so the owner showed me a village map, with another copy in the room. We had some nice chats about the area and her hotel. I also go to Santa Pod, about a 20-minute drive away, and it sounds like other attendees stay here too. I arrived feeling welcome right away. Since I didn’t need to be up at 6am, I came down late for breakfast. That was fine, and the host put together a few things for me to take away, keeping my dietary needs in mind. Mobile signal in the village is weak, but the WiFi works well. A lovely option for work, Santa Pod or a leisure trip. I’d stay again.

Thanks for making my stay so enjoyable, especially for arranging an earlier check-in. The bed was really comfortable and breakfast delicious. I also enjoyed meeting Peggy the pooch, she was a friendly addition. I’d happily stay at The Poplars again when I’m next in the area.
