The garden was a highlight, with a clean BBQ area, lots of well-kept space, a big table and plenty of seats. There were clean deck chairs, a decent football area at the back, a nice children's play area, and plenty of good places for photos. The house itself was lovely and clearly well maintained. There's room to park 5/6 cars. We arrived a little early while the maintenance team was finishing the cleaning, and they left the whole place spotless. Each room had its own style, most had an ensuite, and the bed arrangement was just what we wanted. One team member showed us around. The house has some stunning antique collections and a large dining room that can fit 20 people. It's conveniently located 5-10 minutes from M5, with supermarkets nearby, some open until midnight. If you're after a countryside break in Somerset with a large group, this is the place.

We picked the 3-bed cottage mainly because it worked for my 84 year old Mum. The downstairs bedroom and wetroom were just right for her. Our boys also made plenty of use of the games room, wii console, football field and gardens. After spinal surgery, I always worry about beds, and these were incredibly comfortable. The place felt so much like home, more than anywhere we've stayed. It was spotless, tastefully decorated, well equipped and beautifully furnished. You can see the owners and housekeepers put thought and care into the stay, from the generous welcome basket and bbq supplies to the robes, slippers and toiletries. It was easy to find, and the parking and security were great. The village is pretty and worth a wander. We also visited Hestercombe Park, Glastonbury, Burnham and Wells, all about a 15-30 minute drive away. After booking, there's an option to download the Cossington Park app, which has lots of useful and interesting information. I could keep going. I'd happily return and recommend it to friends and family.

I've stayed at Cossington Park twice and had a great time both visits. The grounds are beautiful as soon as you come through the gate. We played croquet, bowls and badminton there, and it's just as nice for sitting back and relaxing. The house was spotless, and each bedroom has its own character. I enjoyed wandering through all the rooms, as did the children, and even if you get the last bedroom pick, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The bed was very comfortable, so I slept well. Anyone who likes cooking should be happy with the well-equipped kitchen. We ate in the dining room, which made us feel like royalty. It's one of my favourite rooms too, with so many interesting books on the shelves. This is the most beautiful place I've ever stayed. I'd give it more than 5 stars if I could.

The house is big but still feels cosy. I was there with friends for a December weekend, and we all had a lovely time. The dining hall comfortably fit everyone for meals, and it has an impressive feel. Bedrooms were all a decent size, with some enormous ones, and the bathrooms and heating worked properly. The kitchen had plenty of cooking tools and crockery, plus two dishwashers that made cleanup much easier.

We had a fantastic weekend with our group of 16 and the dogs, and we're already planning to come back. It's a charming historic house and garden, suited to a big family get-together, with all the modern comforts for a relaxing break. The furnishings, bathrooms and kitchen were high quality, and the linen was lovely with comfortable beds. There are games and equipment, and more than a few books. The people were lovely to deal with, and the welcome hampers were a nice finishing touch. Highly recommend.
