Wednesday pizza night is a real treat, with fresh, tasty pizzas, crisp bases and good toppings. The Grey Hound Inn has a cosy, lively feel, and the staff, Phil, Lynn, and Nicki, are friendly and make you feel at home. In the heart of Stogursey, it's a proper English village pub with a warm welcome and the kind of locally owned character that's hard to imitate. The owners clearly care about their community. It's a charming place with a great atmosphere, and I'd happily recommend stopping in if you're near Grey Hound Inn.

We were hoping to grab a quick pint and some food after a coastal path walk, but the pub was shut on Tuesday lunchtime. The landlord noticed us outside and kindly invited us in. It had a pleasant feel, even with us as the only customers, and we enjoyed a beer and a chat with him. We were sorry to hear they aren't serving food because the owners, @Heineken, haven't refurbished the kitchen. It's hard to see how a pub can make a profit without one, but as a drinks-only pub, it's still worth recommending.

The new landlords have put a lot of work into smartening up this traditional, friendly village pub since it reopened. It's dog friendly too, which is great for Trevor, our Dachshund.

We didn't stay long, but the pub seemed like a lovely place to spend an evening. The locals were already there at 5pm and made us feel welcome, as did the staff and owners. We were staying nearby and had been sent there for food, but unfortunately the kitchen was closed that night.
