Birdsong and views over the fields made for a lovely start to the day. We had breakfast outside, with a tick sheet to choose from, and it was absolutely brilliant. Tina also showed us the river walk, a really nice route with places to sit by the river. The room was clean and welcoming, with a comfortable four-poster bed and chocolates waiting for us. Ray was there to greet us when we arrived, and he and Tina were both so friendly. We also met the chickens and Freya the dog. The place is on a quiet lane in Burrowbridge, and we loved every part of our visit so much that we’ve already told Tina and Ray we’ll book again in the same room. They’re super hosts, and I’d certainly recommend staying here.

The room was spacious, clean and comfortable, and stayed dark and quiet when the lights were off, which made for a peaceful sleep. Breakfast was tasty, with the freshest eggs from the resident hens. The Somerset Levels location gives the place fantastic views over the countryside, and the River Tone runs behind the property. Tina and her lovely team gave us a warm, wonderful welcome. We may have found the ultimate B and B, even better than my last reviewed one in Eastbourne. We’re genuinely planning to come back next year. Put the soulless multi Corp hotels aside and treat yourself to somewhere like the Morlands. Your heart will thank you.

The annex worked perfectly for my job at a manufacturing site in Burrowbridge. I needed somewhere very nearby and stayed two nights in the self-contained space. It was warm, and having all the amenities meant I could make late dinners. Tina cooked a lovely breakfast, served in the conservatory dining room. We could watch the birds in the garden, while the three chickens wandered around with plenty of character. Friendly hosts, a clean and comfortable place, good food and a handy location made a great balance to my hectic work. A big thumbs-up from me.

I loved watching the sunset with a glass of wine from Tina's riverbank terrace. The walk to the local pub, King Alfred, takes about 15 minutes along the river; we had a very filling Sunday lunch there, with a great choice of ales. Book ahead, and save room for pudding. Back at Tina's, the welcome was so warm, and our room was clean and comfortable. The king-size four-poster bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the sweets alongside the usual tea and coffee were a nice touch. We had the full English breakfast outside in the garden on a sunny morning, with the free-range chickens that had supplied the tasty eggs. A short stay, but a fantastic one. We'll definitely come back.
