The Old Vicarage

I came to Bridgwater for work for just over five months, staying in and out of this hotel, and the staff have been nothing but cheerful and welcoming. I work nights, which can make hotel stays tricky, but they were incredibly accommodating throughout. They kindly moved me to a larger room when the one I'd been given felt a bit small, offered to make food I could take upstairs to eat before sleeping around 7-9 AM, and coordinated housekeeping so I wouldn't be disturbed. Many of them know me by name and remember our old conversations, which means a lot. The location is handy, close to town but far enough away to avoid nighttime disturbance. The rooms are lovely, and the beds are really comfortable and neatly made. There's a nice tea and coffee tray with biscuits. Breakfasts are amazing, though I envy anyone who can enjoy them at 7 in the morning. I tried the lasagne for dinner and would happily have it again. The showers have great pressure and stay at a steady temperature, unlike in other hotels I've stayed in. Five stars from me. Thanks again to everyone for looking after me despite my somewhat difficult, chaotic routine. Sadly, work is moving me back to Exeter instead of Bridgwater, so I may not see the hotel again. Your kindness hasn't gone unnoticed, and I wish you and the business all the best for the future. :) - Josh
