Glencoe Hotel

The host is lovely, and there’s a pool table and bar. Breakfast costs just an extra fiver a day, and they even let me park my wheelchair downstairs. I’m very impressed. Room 1 is lovely, clean, and has a flat-screen TV, kettle, and a well-made, comfortable bed. It’s actually 1.5 size, so although I’m staying alone, it could easily fit a slim couple.

The staff were friendly, and the fried eggs and beans were nicely done, with freshly made toast. The rest of breakfast was disappointing: the orange juice was very poor quality and tasted like orange cordial, while the bacon and sausages were dry, as if they’d been warmed up instead of freshly cooked. The B&B is very dated, and the bathroom didn’t feel welcoming at all. For the quality of the accommodation and breakfast, it felt overpriced.

The bed wasn’t too bad and breakfast was good, but the bathroom was filthy. We couldn’t use the shower because it was so dirty. The sink had grime all over it, and I found it on the taps too. There was dust all over the skirting boards and mirrors. It needs a good clean. I’d never go again.

The full English breakfast went down a treat, and we’re looking forward to visiting again. The hotel was very clean, and a wonderful lady greeted us and did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable. Our room was spacious.
