Park Rose Village

We stayed in one of the pods and found it really clean, spacious and nicely furnished. The facilities were clean as well. I'm not sure why the reviews rate this place so low; there was clearly a lot of thought and attention to detail throughout. We'll be back!

We booked two nights but left after the first, so the second night's pitch fee was wasted. I wasn't happy, as there was nowhere for my kids to play or feel safe. The site felt neglected and needs a lot of care: the area around some empty spaces among the permanent pitches needed tidying and work, and the showers and toilets were run down and due for an update. The layout is strange, with an old Poundstretcher in the middle and another abandoned unit beside it. It looks like the site was set up on an old industrial estate. Emma from Coventry.

Getting to Bempton Cliff to see the puffins was easy, which we loved. A couple of things could be better: the bed needs a new mattress because it makes noise, and the fridge was too small for everyone to fit their food. Maybe each pod could have its own fridge.

After a morning at the animal park next door, the three of us stopped at the cafe for a hot drink and a snack before the long drive home. We ended up ordering an all day breakfast, a jacket potato and a chip butty for our little one, and couldn't fault any of it. There's a good choice of food, and the spacious interior has a uniquely welcoming feel. Dogs are allowed in one section, and it's set up well for young children too: our two year old sat comfortably in a highchair at a table in one of the big bay windows. They accept cash and cards, and I'd highly recommend the cafe to families and people passing through.
