Copse Gate Farm

The countryside views were beautiful, and the location was perfect. We really enjoyed chatting with Charlie and Lucy about rural life on their working farm. They were exceptional hosts and made us feel welcome, the rooms were outstanding, and breakfast with their home produce was delicious. A great find, and we hope to visit again.

We had a wonderful two-night stay in the shepherd’s hut, upgraded with a hot tub. Charlie and Lucy gave us such a warm welcome, and left a bottle of prosecco and a card for our wedding anniversary. The hut was beautifully done, warm and comfortable, and the hot tub was a lovely bonus. Breakfast was fabulous, with homemade produce cooked really well. I’d recommend eating with everyone instead of in the hut, because Lucy and Charlie’s stories were brilliant. What a character Lucy is! We left with some of Charlie’s home-reared meat at a reasonable price, and really hope we can come back.

The hot tub was a treat after days out walking and sightseeing along the Jurassic Coast, and we had a lovely meal at the 5 Bells at the end of the lane. We spent Easter in the Shepherds Hut for three nights. It was cosy and had everything we needed. Lucy and Charlie made us feel very welcome. Breakfast at the farmhouse each morning was well worth joining: we chatted around the table and met the other guests.

Breakfast with Charlie and Lucy was always good company. Their hospitality and eye for detail were 10/10, and they were warm and helpful throughout. They really do go the extra mile to make a stay feel special. Our three nights in the Shepherd’s Hut were superb: spotless, tidy and beautifully presented, with a great shower and brilliant hot tub. I’d highly recommend Copse Gate Farm and Charlie and Lucy to anyone looking for a five-star stay in the heart of Dorset.
