Seadown Park

We've visited three or four times, and this is such a lovely site. Everything is always immaculate, and the beach is very handy. It's our favourite spot in autumn, when the weather can be unpredictable, because you can pop back and forth without having to uproot everyone into and out of cars.

It's a great family campsite, right by the river. There's a huge play area and park leading into the woods, the coast path and down to the sea in just a few minutes. Staff are lovely and friendly, the facilities are clean and there's a great little shop. Hard to fault this place. We'll be back!

The location was the best thing about the place. The park was clean and tidy, with great beach access: a 5-10 minute sloping walk down to the field, then past a tiny river, through a gate and left over a bridge to the beach. There are also walks up the cliff, with a path and a couple of benches if you don't want to go too high. On site, there's a shop with most things you need, and food vans on Tuesday and Wednesday, with fish and chips one day and pizza the next. The caravan was basic but had everything we needed. It smelled a bit damp when we walked in, though we didn't notice it after a week. It was clean. There's no entertainment on site, so you make your own fun with the natural surroundings. A lovely place. I'd stay again.

The park is lovely, clean and well maintained, in the village of Charmouth. It's quiet and relaxing, with an excellent position for the beach, scenery and Lyme Regis. Bus routes are close by, and it's easy to get around this lovely part of Dorset.
