DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole

The pool and sauna were quiet and relaxing, and the grilled chicken skewers were especially good. Food was tasty overall. We stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Brighton Metropole, which is in an excellent location. The rooms generally looked clean, though there were spider webs by the window. Most staff were helpful, but the in-room safe didn’t work. We told reception, who said they’d look into it, but nothing was done during our stay. A good stay with a few things that could be improved.

The road and people outside made a lot of noise, even with the double glazed windows and balcony doors shut. We thought a window might be open, but it wasn’t. Going out onto the balcony was still lovely, with a great view and sunset. The room itself was clean, well kept and reasonably equipped, and they fixed the loose towel rail while we were out. We enjoyed the hotel and its seaside setting. There’s plenty of parking at the back, though £26 for 24 hours felt unfair when we were hotel guests. The gym and other facilities are there, and breakfast was very good.

Our room looked out over the old pier and along the coast, with amazing views. The hotel was lovely and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Great location too. Breakfast was wonderful. I didn’t make it to the health club this time, but I read it has a pool, sauna and jacuzzi, maybe next visit.

The room and location were lovely, and I’ve stayed at many Hilton hotels around the country. But finding bedbugs in our beds at 3am was awful. The manager moved us and assured us the original room would be closed and treated. I’d left my wallet in that room, though, and when I went back, the cleaner was there and it was already ready for the next guest. I explained what had happened and she panicked, saying nobody had told her. I wasn’t happy with how it was handled, and I won’t return to this Hilton.
