The Lanes Hotel

The rooms were ultra clean, and the dressing gowns and toiletries were excellent. It’s a great location, though the place is showing some wear and tear. I thought it was very good value and can’t wait to visit again. The guy at the desk from the USA was excellent, very helpful and friendly. Free parking is available if there’s a space, and as a hotel I can’t fault the place. One snag was that I couldn’t get online at all because the sign-in didn’t work. It seemed to be an issue they were looking into, and it won’t stop me booking again.

The sea view was lovely, and my room felt warm and cosy with plenty of space. I had a really nice short break at The Lanes Hotel. Everyone on staff was kind and helpful, and I’d gladly come back.

Breakfast was a highlight, especially the hash brown, probably the best I’ve had, and I’ve tried plenty. We had a roomy balcony room with a huge bathtub, and even finding a parking space was a real help, though it isn’t guaranteed. Mike made us feel so welcome and looked after us attentively, even though we’d only just met. The staff were wonderfully warm, and after a few trips to Brighton, this was easily our best stay. Thanks for making it such an enjoyable visit. We’ll definitely be back.

I was in the area and needed urgent help reaching a friend who had been taken to the hospital emergency room with her two babies. I asked a staff member for Wi-Fi access or help making a call so I could find out exactly where in the hospital they were. They were rude and dismissive, and wouldn’t help at all. Given the medical emergency and the young children involved, the lack of empathy was deeply upsetting. I’m asking for this to be investigated and for suitable action to make sure staff know to offer courteous help, especially in emergencies.
