Wonderland House

We had an incredible New Year at Wonderland House. The house is really well equipped and so much fun, and it’s just moments from the beach. Great location, highly recommend.

We’ve stayed at the Wonderland every year for the last several years, and it feels just as magical each time. The kids love exploring the house all over again, and we love how central and functional it is. Truly magical.

It’s a cosy, clean and welcoming home with an Alice-in-Wonderland theme, and everything’s well organised. Kemp town and the beach are a short walk away, and buses make it easy to get to Brighton centre. Wonderful, just as the name says.

There were 15 of us at this hen party, and the Wonderland House made it unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into wonderland. Every detail is themed, right down to the lights, furniture and crockery. The enchanted table lights up and was a magical place to celebrate with the bride-to-be. The house had plenty of beds, so nobody had to share, along with four toilets, three showers and two kitchens. Costumes were provided too, which saved us all bringing our own. Booking, check-in and check-out were smooth, and we could leave as late as we liked on Sunday. Cleaning was refreshingly simple: just empty the bins and separate clean and dirty towels, with no onerous rules like at some places I’ve stayed. The owner and property manager were both really helpful before and during our stay, replying to requests within a few hours. Before booking, I asked whether the property would work for members of our group with mobility issues. The owner sent photos of the front step, ground-floor bedroom and bathroom, plus details about the stairs, which gave those guests helpful information to decide whether it was accessible for them. We got a recommendation for local caterers and had an amazing afternoon tea from Mad Platters. The location was perfect: less than half a mile from Proud Caberet, two minutes from the beach and pier, and under a mile from town. There’s no street parking at the house, but local car parks are less than a five-minute walk away and can be booked for the weekend. The train station is a 25-minute walk, and the bus stop is five minutes away, so there are plenty of transport options. Our security deposit was returned within 24 hours of leaving, which was great. I can’t recommend the Wonderland House enough for a party or celebration. We had a fantastic time.
