The location is great for the Hippodrome, only a few minutes’ walk away. Breakfast had lots of vegan choices, all clearly labelled, which isn’t always the case, and the pianist was lovely. Parking was easy to find and well priced for one night. My room was ready an hour early, and when the TV didn’t work, they quickly moved me to another room. I was disappointed by the room service, though. I called before booking to make sure it ran 24 hours because I expected to be hungry after the show at the hippodrome, and was told it did. But when I got back at 10:15pm, the front desk said the menu was reduced after 10, marked with a moon, and only had toasties. Since I’m vegan, there was just one option and I couldn’t eat it. I also found non-vegan biscuits and milk in the room despite my booking clearly being marked vegan. If they weren’t going to provide an alternative, they could at least have removed those. I’d expected a mini fridge, though maybe that isn’t standard for a four-star hotel. There were no robes, slippers or amenity kits either, perhaps that’s what you get at a five-star. Those were smaller issues beside the food problem.

We held a charity and cultural programme in the Ballroom at The Bristol Hotel, part of The Doyle Collection, in February 2026, with around 150 guests. The building is beautiful and in a great location, and the day felt special throughout. The hospitality team were very helpful, and they let us bring in external caterers. Sharon had been helping us since the end of last year and did a great job making the event a success. I’d definitely recommend it.

For my 50th, the staff’s personal attention made the stay unforgettable. Vanessa, Pablo, Roman, Kizzy Lee, Daniela, Javier and Valeria, sorry if I’ve misspelled or forgotten anyone’s name, were all incredible, professional and kind. They even sent a lovely chocolate arrangement for my birthday. The hotel was great, the room incredibly comfortable and the food delicious.

The rooms could use a refresh, the bathroom was particularly small, and my coffee machine didn’t work. There also wasn’t anywhere to hang a coat. On the plus side, the towels were fab and the linens nice. Staff were lovely, and both the breakfast room and breakfast were very nice, though you may need to queue when it’s busy. The reception looks especially grand. Great location for town and an excellent parking setup.

Breakfast was fantastic, with plenty of choice and good vegetarian and vegan options. The food was well cooked and hot, and the bathroom toiletries were good quality and vegan friendly. Our room was warm, clean and tidy, with lots of space, a lovely bathroom, and robes and slippers. Everyone we met was friendly and really helpful. From checking in to breakfast, we couldn’t fault our one-night stay near Christmas. The service was excellent, and they even sorted out our taxi when it was delayed. Probably the best hotel we’ve ever stayed in. If you’re visiting Bristol, I can’t think of anywhere better.
