The Old Farmhouse

We had an early flight from Bristol airport, so this was just right for an overnight stop. The pub, about two minutes away, was great for dinner and a couple of pints.

We stay here to kick off our holiday because it’s so handy for the airport. The bedroom has what you need, and there’s a pub within walking distance that serves fantastic food.

The rooms are very clean, which was the one real positive for me. Otherwise, it was an uncomfortable stay. The rooms and bathrooms are cramped, and water ends up all over the floor when you shower, even if you’re careful. With two people, you can imagine how awkward it is for the next person using the bathroom. The bed is metal with a spring mattress, and I’ve had a terrible backache since morning. Street parking is limited and only allowed until 9am. There aren’t dinner options nearby either. All in all, I’d avoid it.

Sharon was a lovely host, kind and always around to answer questions. Our room was nicely decorated and very clean, and the bathroom was spotless. There’s a nice pub across the way too. We had a lovely stay, and I’d definitely return if I had another layover.
