ibis Bristol Centre

Great location and friendly reception staff 😊. The bathroom was tiny and unclean 🙁, the TV kept switching itself off and the air conditioning was noisy. The hotel encourages eco-friendly reuse, but there was nowhere to hang wet bath towels so they could dry enough to use again during the stay. Housekeeping staff seemed unhappy and didn't look like they enjoyed their jobs 🙁.

The hotel is surrounded by restaurants and pubs at Harbourside, with plenty of bus routes nearby. Reception staff were nice, and Mendy and Abdul were especially helpful with my questions. A couple of things were fixed during our stay. I did miss having a bidet and a better mattress, but all in all it was a good stay.

The receptionist was quick to sort things out, but the room itself was a mess. Dust covered everything, there was a bloodied Q-tip in the shower, odd liquid splashes on the walls and more Q-tips lying around. I thought the previous guest had had a bad time, until I found a Viagra on the included cuck chair. Seriously, imagine if a child had found it while their parents were asleep. Craziness. I went down to tell reception the room hadn't been cleaned. Before I could finish, she'd arranged a new room on the top floor and two free drinks at the bar. I'd give one star for the hotel's management, not the staff, but the free Viagra bumped the score up a little.

We had a decent-sized room and lovely beds, and check-in and checkout were quick. Discounted parking is available very nearby. The bathroom door didn't close all the way, but that didn't bother us, and the shower pressure was just enough. Breakfast was pretty average and sometimes busy, so go early if you can. For the room price and location, you can't go wrong. Really good overall.
