The staff were all so pleasant and helpful, and the bar drinks were very reasonably priced. We slept better than we have in ages in this characterful old building. Breakfast was excellent on both mornings, and Brixham harbour is only a few minutes away by car. We absolutely loved it and would definitely return.

We had a lovely two-night Valentine's stay in this 12th century Hotel. Its age and character were a big part of the appeal. If you prefer modern places, this probably won't suit you. Breakfast was lovely too, and the woman serving it was very nice. We'd definitely stay again.

We enjoyed our short stay while exploring beautiful Devon by car and on foot. The building has a lot of atmosphere, with a knight in shining armor greeting you on the stairs. We received a warm, pleasant welcome to this historic place. As I understand it, new owners have recently taken over and refurbishment is underway. The kitchens were closed during our visit, except for breakfast.

There are some narrow lanes on the way in, but the drive is worth it. The hotel, restaurant and bar are very old, and it's said to be very haunted. Inside, there are so many fascinating historical objects that you'll want to look around. The drink selection is good and reasonably priced, and the outdoor seating is set up for a relaxing visit. I love this place. I haven't stayed overnight yet, but I'll be booking a night soon and can give a fuller review then.

A simple, relaxed spot for a cold beer, either in the very distinctive pub or out in the front garden. It feels like the real Devon rather than the touristy part, and locals come here too. I enjoyed it.
