We had a lot of fun at the chocolate tasting in Bleak House's Great Expectations Room, hosted by @the_cocoa_pod. It was interactive, and we learned plenty about chocolate while comparing notes with the other guests and picking a favourite. I'm not sure whether it'll happen regularly. The room itself was lovely, with a great view of the garden, and Bleak House has a wonderfully quirky feel. I didn't get to try the coffee, so I'll pop in another day.

The garden seating has amazing views over Viking bay, and there are comfortable seats inside too. It's dog friendly indoors and out. I enjoyed the coffee, which was very reasonably priced, along with the cakes and sausage rolls. There's also a lovely selection of antiques for sale, especially the Indian motorcycle table lamp 😄.

The owners are lovely and go out of their way for you, and the coffee and cakes are cracking. The cafe is tucked away from the busy sands at Viking Bay but still has distant views. One thing I noticed as a dog owner: a large dog was off lead inside. My husband and I love animals, but could dogs be kept on leads, especially when food is being served? It'd be a shame to spoil such a peaceful place. Otherwise, it's the best cafe in town.

There's seating outdoors as well as inside this lovely cafe at Bleak House, with views across Viking Bay. The coffee was good and the cakes looked tempting. Service was a little slow.

A lovely, friendly owner and a place full of history. We enjoyed tea and delicious cake while looking out over the bay.
