We turned up a week early for our overnight stay in Broadstairs because we’d booked the wrong dates. The owner was incredibly kind and quickly suggested another place for us, which turned out to be an excellent recommendation. We were so touched that we went to their cafe for drinks that evening and came back for breakfast the next day. The cocktails were masterpieces. I had the smoked hot honey margarita, one of the best drinks I’ve ever had. They told me they smoke and season the honey themselves. Delicious! Breakfast was great too: we had crumpets with perfectly cooked scrambled eggs. If you want somewhere in Broadstairs run by kind, lovely people, look no further. We’ll be back, and next time we’ll check our dates properly so we can stay in one of those lovely rooms as well :)

We barely slept, maybe three hours on and off, because the people in the room above us were moving around and shifting things from 4 or 5am. It was ridiculously loud. We could hear them talking and swearing too, which made us uncomfortable. Perhaps we were unlucky with the noise, but £135 for the night didn’t feel worth it. The bedroom window wouldn’t close all the way, and there’s a lively pub opposite that stays open until midnight. That didn’t bother us since we went to bed after 12. We booked a standard double through booking.com for Saturday night to celebrate my birthday in Broadstairs. Check-in at Twist was easy, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. We were given the 'moulin rouge' room, with interesting but dated decor that might suit some people better than us. It was dark, and the red drapes in the bedroom and bathroom were dusty. The sink unit wobbled and wasn’t properly attached to the wall, though that wasn’t a major issue given the central location. At checkout, the staff member was sincerely apologetic when we explained the noise. I changed my rating from three stars to two after the owner replied, ‘This is what a guest said just 4 weeks before you stayed so maybe you would just be better off in a corporate environment next time.’

We loved our one-night stay at Ebenezer’s Place. The Moulin Rouge room’s quirky decor gave it loads of character, a refreshing change from standard hotel style. The staff were warm and helpful, and clearly care about guests. My husband and I will definitely stay again next time we’re in Broadstairs, and we’d recommend it to anyone after a unique, friendly place in a great location.

I didn’t stay at the hotel, but I did visit the cafe twice. When we got to Kent, we wanted somewhere to unwind over hot chocolate in the evening. This place fit the bill, and the hot chocolate was lovely. The staff were welcoming and the service was great. We came back the next day for a drink before our train, and the staff were amazing again, though it was a different team. I’d recommend the cafe for a relaxed catch-up with friends or family. The drinks were very reasonably priced, especially considering you’re practically on the beach. I’d definitely return if I’m in Kent again.

We had a lovely stay in the Victorian Room and a warm welcome from the manager. The owners were friendly and accommodating too. Breakfast was delicious. We didn’t get to try the cocktails, but we’ll definitely be back to this seaside gem :)
