The staff were friendly and helpful, and the lasagne was good. We’d booked a table for two for a bar snack. When we arrived, we were shown to a spot right beside a table for four. We were relieved that the larger table stayed empty, but I think the layout would work better if there weren’t just one table for two in that area.

The chilli beef was beautifully cooked and full of flavour, and there was a great choice of drinks. We had dinner at the Pensirth Arms and really enjoyed the evening. The service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere added to it. The prices were excellent for the quality, I’d happily have paid more. Highly recommended.

Parking round the back was really handy, and the pub food and breakfast were epic. Ian and his wife have done an amazing job running this brilliant little hotel in a beautiful village. The rooms are super nice, with private sun balconies. So glad I found this place.

A warm, welcoming place with lovely, friendly service. We went for a meal and had really good traditional pub food, well cooked and at good prices.

We were really disappointed, especially after seeing the good reviews, and won’t be going back. We’d booked ahead for a midweek visit, but waited an hour after ordering for the food. The beer-battered cod had far too much batter, and it was very hard. The chips were hard too, and seemed to have come from the bottom of the chip pan, with fat absorbed right through them. My husband’s steak and ale pie was over-salty with a strong artificial flavour, and his chips were just like mine.
