The food is well cooked and delicious, and the breakfasts are very generous. Rooms are comfortable, and the staff are cheerful and willing to help. Steve’s bad review from eight months ago is talking rubbish. It’s a friendly pub in a beautiful setting, with a great feel to the place. Highly recommended.

I stopped in for lunch and Ed behind the bar gave me a warm welcome. My BLT came out quickly and was excellent, and there was a good range of beers, including TT Landlord. Sitting outside, you get lovely views. Just note that lunch is served only until 2pm. Recommended A+++.

We stopped during our drive for a traditional country-style UK lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The staff were friendly, the service was great, and it’s a lovely place to visit if you’re passing through.

When I’m out on my bike, this is always a nice place to drop into. There’s a warm welcome, all sorts of drinks, plenty of room to sit, and lots of parking. On a cold day, you can warm up beside the fire.

We only popped in for lunch and didn’t stay the night. The beef sandwich was the best I’ve ever had, and the fish and mushy pea sandwich was great too. Lovely people and log fires make this a great place.
