The house and gardens are lovely, clean and well laid out. It was a nice touch to find biscuits and a jug of milk in the fridge, though an extra toilet roll would have helped. Everything else was there, but the knives and forks could be better, especially the knives, which didn’t really cut.

The owners were so welcoming and helpful. They even helped when my dog got urchin quills stuck in his nose. Dogs can’t be off the lead on the farm or on the beaches, understandably, but the owners suggested other places where dogs can run around. The property is clean, tidy, dog friendly and has plenty of parking. It’s about a 40-minute walk to a lovely beach, down and then back up a huge hill, so be warned. You can also drive there easily. I’d absolutely return and recommend it.

We’ve stayed at this lovely cottage twice now and would come again. It’s warm, comfortable, clean and tidy, and very quiet. The cats are extremely friendly.

Duckpool beach is lovely and unspoilt, with a very rocky shore. It’s about a 30-minute walk down the lane, though there’s a footpath if you’d rather avoid walking the whole way along the lane. The children especially loved the playground sandpit. We stayed in the Shippon, a lovely, spacious house for eight with everything we needed for our holiday. It was beautifully clean, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
