The large upstairs bedroom has three windows, so it feels bright and airy, with views over rhododendron bushes, hills, and a field of sheep. We also loved the enormous freestanding bath. Downstairs, the layout is lovely, with a kitchen and dining area that had all the pots and things we needed to cook one night. Kiltaraglen House’s Holly View Annexe is beautifully put together, with fresh-feeling furnishings and decorations. Kevin and Pam made us feel very welcome, and the fresh flowers around the house were a thoughtful touch.

The owners were wonderful, and the cottage was comfortable and well equipped for our family. It’s conveniently placed near both Portree and the main sights up the peninsula. A perfect stay on Skye, we had a fantastic time in the garden cottage.

Pamela was lovely to talk with both when we arrived and before we left, and she knows a lot about the area. The property is lovely, tucked into an idyllic setting. It’s a quiet, peaceful base after long hiking days, yet Portree and Skye’s livelier side are within walking distance. Ms. Pam is a real treasure and such a welcoming host.

We spent a restful week in the Garden Wing this time, after also staying at the Hollyview Annex on an earlier visit. The kitchen is well equipped, the living room is large, and the bed is super comfy. We loved the beautiful garden room, luxurious bedding and towels, and little touches like fresh flowers. Everything is always very clean. Kiltaraglen is incredible, and Pamela and Kevin are superb hosts. We love it here!

Our apartment at Kiltaraglen House was spotless and had everything we needed, though it was non-catering. We picked up breakfast supplies at a nearby coop. Pamela was a great inn-keeper and available whenever we needed anything. The place is just outside town, so it’s peaceful, but downtown and the restaurants are an easy walk away. We’d definitely stay here again. It was the best place to stay in Portree.
