Lynstone Lakes

A lovely, peaceful place to stay. We’ll definitely return if we come back to Bude for a holiday.

We stayed in the Kingfisher lodge, which was spotless and had all the amenities we needed for a short break. The shower was lovely and the bed was so comfortable, like sleeping on a cloud. It’s easy to get to local supermarkets for supplies. The lodge is in a quiet spot, with only the occasional voices of people walking along the canal. There’s plenty of room on the decking, where I spent quite a bit of time reading. My boyfriend enjoyed fishing in the lakes, which is only available to people staying at Lynstone Lakes. Bude is easy to reach by car or on foot. I recommend the canal walk into town, it’s pretty and completely flat, so works for all fitness levels. We’d definitely stay again, hopefully for longer so we can really enjoy the beautiful setting.

Our friends were in the cabin next to us, which worked perfectly, and we’ll definitely be back. The stay was even better than we’d imagined, extremely clean and well priced, with every little thing thoughtfully provided. I couldn’t fault it. A full-length mirror would’ve helped us get ready for the wedding we were attending. If you plan to eat outside, I’d recommend bringing citronella candles.

We enjoyed a peaceful escape in a comfortable lodge with everything we needed, and the hosts made us feel welcome. Ducks sometimes came by at breakfast while fish swam in the lakes. From there, it’s a short walk to the canal, then about 20 minutes on foot into Bude and the nearby beaches. A lovely little getaway.
