Stoneborough House B&B

This was our second stay at Stoneborough House, and Kathryn and George were excellent hosts again. We’ve never stayed at a better B&B. The accommodation and breakfasts are second to none, and it has everything you need and more. We can’t recommend it highly enough and will certainly return for another visit soon.

The owners were friendly, and having fresh milk for tea and coffee in the room was a nice touch. Parking was hassle-free, the breakfast was excellent, and the accommodation was spacious, well fitted and very comfortable. Probably the best bed and breakfast we’ve stayed in.

The hosts were brilliant, and breakfast was fantastic. The house is wonderful, with a dining room, lounge and conservatory guests can use. Our room and bathroom were both beautiful and spacious. I’d give this magnificent B&B six stars if I could. Wish we could stay longer.

I came away from Stoneborough House feeling thoroughly spoiled. In many ways it beat my stays in five star hotels, which can be luxurious but impersonal, and it’s completely changed how I think about B&Bs. I’d spent most of my life staying in mostly 4-5* hotels for work and pleasure, and worried a B&B might feel like a downgrade. Stoneborough Bed and Breakfast is really more of a boutique B&B. The breakfast was a highlight: a beautifully presented fruit platter, a really tasty English breakfast and Kathryn’s delicious homemade jams. Guests sit together around one table, which makes it easy to exchange ideas about local places to see and things to do. I loved chatting with them instead of having a quiet, separate hotel breakfast. I’d misjudged the Bank Holiday traffic and got in late from London, but Kathyrn stayed up to welcome me and was gracious about it. My Wisteria room was clean, homely and thoughtfully arranged, with an incredibly comfortable bed and high quality bedding. The bathroom had everything I could possibly need, and more. Kathryn and George were wonderful hosts, always ready to help. Their home and their company both charmed me. I’m afraid nothing else will ever compare to Stoneborough!
