The lovely staff and cosy interior were the bright spots. I’d happily pop in for a drink, but the food was poor quality for the price. My ploughman’s was a cheap part-baked roll with a slab of cheese and a little salad. My partner’s roast came with boiled vegetables and very dry chicken. There weren’t any highchairs in the pub or any kind of children’s menu.

It was blissfully peaceful at night, though traffic was busy and pretty constant during the day. This is a welcoming, clean and very hospitable Inn in a great spot. Our room had a fine view of the village, and the room itself was good. Dinner was OK, and the local brewery beer is real. Dog friendly and very accommodating too.

On a rainy Thursday afternoon, my friend and I stopped in for a drink. The place felt cosy and welcoming, and the sweetest lady took our order with a lovely smile. Both women working there were cheerful, and the locals were friendly too. We didn’t eat, but the menu looked tempting. We’ll come back and try it next time!

We’ve just spent a long weekend at the Burley Inn and will definitely come back. The layout has lots of little nooks, so you don’t feel crowded by other people. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious, and all the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.
