Sandy Glade Holiday Park

The caravan was a good size, clean and basic, and the clubhouse and staff were fantastic. But there were ants everywhere in the caravan. I saw three on my leg when I got up to use the toilet in the middle of the night, and there were ants all over the place. Other guests have mentioned the same, so it seems like an infestation. For support after hours, there's no number apart from night security. The onsite WiFi cost £7 for three nights and the signal was shocking, I was disconnected more often than connected. There is free public WiFi in the clubhouse.

There was loads to do around the park, the entertainment was superb, and the staff were all great. The food place was mega cheap and didn't rip people off like most holiday parks. A full breakfast was only £8, amazing for a holiday park. We had a basic caravan, but it was spotless when we arrived, and the park itself was spotless too. The bed was so comfy for a caravan, and the shower was like a power shower. Great value for money. We'll definitely come back.

The caravan had everything we needed, and the bed in 124 yew tree was the comfiest I've ever slept in. The park was clean and well maintained, and the caravan was spotless. Staff were friendly and helpful, and there was a great takeaway and a fully stocked shop. I'd definitely recommend Sandy Glade.

We came for the Living with the Lions rugby tour and had a bronze chalet. When my son checked his room, he found mould and fur all along the skirting boards. My wife had to bleach it before we could unpack. Reception agreed the condition was unacceptable, and the furniture was very drab with veneer missing. Other people had cleanliness problems too. There was no hot water for two people. We called the emergency helpline and were told someone would come, but an hour later reception was closed. A security guard came to fix it after reception and maintenance had gone home. If you get chalet 31, refuse it.
