The food was excellent at breakfast, lunch and dinner, and it’s such a cosy place to stay. The team are friendly and welcoming, and nothing seems too much trouble. It’s a relaxed country inn in a beautiful spot at the foot of Pendle Hill. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

We found a place by the stove near the door and settled in with a couple of pints. The staff were helpful and friendly, and it was a good crowd in a good pub. It’s set up more like a restaurant these days, with table service, but you can still just order at the bar. There are wood fired stoves, cosy vibes and nice beers. Moorhouse's White Witch blonde ale tasted particularly good. The Kingstone Press Apple Cider on keg was pretty good for a cider option too.

After a big walk up Pendle Hill, we had the three course roast, and every part of it was top tier. The Yorkshire puddings were amazing, the meat gorgeous, and the vegetables perfectly cooked, no soggy veg here. It was great value too. Good roast dinners are so hard to find when eating out. The staff were lovely, and I can’t recommend the food highly enough.

We stopped for breakfast while walking nearby with our dog, and had a great time. The food was excellent and very good value, the staff were so welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us, and the inside is beautiful. We sat by the fire. We didn’t stay overnight on this visit, but we’ll book a night next time we’re in the area. We’ll definitely be back soon, without hesitation.
