The Fell Hotel

After walking the dog around burnsall, I took my friends for a birthday afternoon tea. They handled our dietary needs really well, and the vegan tea was delicious. The scones had just come out of the oven and were divine. Lovely views, excellent service, and very welcoming to dogs.

We celebrated our wedding here from Thursday until we left on Sunday, and couldn’t have been happier with the venue or the hospitality. The layout made it easy to move through the different parts of the day, and the scenery was a beautiful backdrop in any weather. Sam did a fantastic job running the day. He worked closely with the team, and several guests commented on his professional manner. Thanks to him and to everyone across the departments, including the people working behind the scenes to keep things running smoothly. We’d stayed here several times before the wedding and had always found the staff friendly, professional, and ready to go above and beyond. We’d happily recommend coming to eat, stay, or get married here.

I spent five nights here and already want to plan another walking trip. There are plenty of 12 mile circular walks, and the hotel is well placed for the Dales Way in either direction. It’s a lovely place to come back to for a good dinner and breakfast before setting off again. Every member of the local team, from the manager and reception to the bar, waiting staff, and housekeeping, was personable and exceptional. That really makes a difference.

My husband and I stopped in for a drink this afternoon, and two ports came to £20. As I was leaving, the elderly man who’d served us came out and accused me of not paying, even though I had. It completely ruined what had been a relaxing afternoon.
