The building is incredible, it feels like a tardis inside, and both the hotel and accommodation are gorgeous. We had a lovely stay, even though we were surprised to be charged a service fee after leaving a tip. Perhaps that could have been made clearer. The three course dinner was gorgeous and breakfast was outstanding. Credit to the young expectant woman who was constantly on the go looking after guests.

Dinner was a treat: the Korean Pheasant bites and Sticky Toffee Pudding were among the best we’ve had. Our room and bathroom were spotless, and the White Company products added a little luxury. The room was wonderfully cosy and warm. The old building has so much history, and the Dales setting feels just right. Both the pub and B&B had a welcoming, homely atmosphere.

We stayed for one night and really enjoyed it. The weather was poor, but the setting was still idyllic and beautiful. The room was clean and cosy, with a lovely big comfortable bed, and breakfast was amazing. The pub and restaurant had a great atmosphere, and the food was high quality. Some main dishes were quite expensive, though the portions were generous. No complaints from us.

We had two dogs with us and found the place dog friendly throughout. The rooms suited our needs, though they badly need renovation, which is planned for Jan 27. They were generally clean, as were the large outdoor areas. For the accommodation, the price felt fair despite the tired appearance, but the food wasn’t good value compared with nearby options. The team of young people were exceptionally friendly and professional. It’s a quiet place to unwind and enjoy nature, with a stunning spot on the Wharfe beneath the fells.

Right by the river, with a great beer garden, the location is hard to beat. Our room paired historic character with modern comfort, and breakfast in particular was top-notch. Friendly staff, cosy log fires, and a lovely atmosphere made for a stunning stay in the heart of the Dales. We can’t wait to come back.
