The Den

Steve greeted us at the door when we arrived for our two-night stay and helped with our luggage. Our first room was a little small but nice. After my wife, who’s eight months pregnant, had a terrible night because the bed was too small, we told Steve. He immediately upgraded us at no extra charge to the biggest room, with an ensuite bathroom and a luxury double bed. I really appreciated how he went out of his way to make sure she was comfortable. He also cooked us a lovely breakfast and offered us a seat in his lounge to watch Sky. He seemed to genuinely care about our experience and did what he could to help. We’ll definitely return after the baby arrives.

My room was a generous size, had an ensuite, and was well stocked with everything I needed. As an Airbnb host myself, I appreciated how hard Steve worked to make me comfortable and how accommodating he was. Thanks, Steve. My week with you flew by, and the stay was well worth the price.

Stephen was a friendly, accommodating host and communicated really well. The bed, though, was very uncomfortable, so I’m giving it three stars. It’s a simple B&B on a housing estate at the edge of Ixworth, handy for visiting Bury St. Edmunds. The rooms are small and share a bathroom between four rooms, which is reflected in the price and about what you’d expect. It’s a nice house, with a large lounge guests can use, and it’s easy to find if you look for the big white lion statues at the front.

Steve was a wonderful host and couldn’t do enough for us. He even offered to pick up a Sunday morning paper. The premises were clean, the food excellent, and it was great value for money. Definitely recommend.
