Causeway Tavern B&B

An old-fashioned pub and B&B, with a fireplace, several beer taps, a cat you can pet, and a decent collection of comic book action figures. Breakfast is served in a very tiny room, so let them know when you plan to come down in the morning. There’s no dinner on site, but the owner gave excellent advice in Bushmill.

We felt right at home during our two nights here. The breakfast looked as good as it tasted 😋, and the location is perfect for exploring the Causeway coast. Hopefully we’ll make it back one day.

You don’t need a car to get around here. The Tavern gave us a ride after we arrived on the wee boat from Scotland, and also took us to and from several local sites. A short ride gets you to Bushmills, where the Rambler bus can take you along the coast. The family run place sits among farm fields beside a church, near a country school and a few miles from the exquisite Causeway Coast. It’s family friendly, with a great breakfast, and the afternoon or evening bar is worth a visit for the experience. This was a fabulous way to experience Northern Ireland. It isn’t a luxury hotel, but it’s just what it needs to be. Take time to get to know the hostess.

The rooms are fairly standard and have private bathrooms, but the owners are so kind and accommodating. They’re lively and funny, and we really enjoyed sharing a few pints with them. Breakfast was good and there was plenty to eat. I can’t recommend this place enough, and I’ll definitely stay again when I’m back in the area.
