The standout for us was the thoughtful service from Ellie, Brooke and Alma. My wife needed to breastfeed and wasn’t comfortable where we were sitting. Even though it was very busy, the girls quickly found us a table in a nice, secluded spot. Their kindness and consideration helped a lot during what was becoming a stressful moment for us and our baby. The food was outstanding, and there’s a good range on the menu. Everything we ordered was excellent. Without a doubt, it’s the best pub for food in the area. You won’t go wrong here.

The apple and cinnamon jelly petit four deserves a special mention. It took me straight to an Austrian mountain hut for apple strudel. 10/10. The food was incredible, and you can’t make a bad choice. There’s a lot of thought and care in the dishes, the cocktails are spectacular, the atmosphere is excellent and the staff are lovely.

A lovely room and a handy base for walks in the Peak District. The pub serves good beer and wine, and the food was fabulous, the best I’ve had in a long time.

We shared the Scotch eggs, roast beef, and cheese and onion tart, and everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It was great value for money. This is probably the best food pub or restaurant I’ve been to in the last decade. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the surroundings are idyllic. On a cold winter’s day, the open fires made the cosy atmosphere even better.

I came for lunch without expecting much and left happy. The food was some of the best I’ve ever had, and I’m a foodie living in London. The cosy atmosphere and very nice staff made it even better. Come hungry.
