The Old Barn

The Old Barn stands out from the places I’ve stayed before. The tiny village is lovely, the house is nice, and the hosts are welcoming, warm, and great to chat with. Breakfast was ace and would set you up for a great day, though it also made me wish I could return to The Old Barn each morning during the trip. If breakfast had Michelin stars, theirs would earn one.

Lynn and Peter made us feel so welcome at The Old Barn. Our room was lovely, breakfast was great, and the location was quiet and peaceful. It was nice to meet Eric (the cat), too. I’d definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay in the quiet countryside, and the place was easy to find. It feels modern, clean, and welcoming, with a nice room and bathroom. The only issue was that light crept into our room first thing, so curtains would help. Breakfast is upstairs, and the couple who own the barn were very warm and welcoming. We had a vegetarian breakfast, plus orange, coffee, tea, cereal, fruit, and yogurt. The choice and food quality were amazing. Shoe trays by the door were handy for muddy boots. There are local neolithic burial sites around the area, and it’s a lovely visit for couples.

A lovely couple and their friendly cat hosted us at this beautiful countryside property near Buxton. The room was comfortable and breakfast was great. There’s a charming old church down the road and a pubic foot path for a stroll. Chatsworth House, Lyme Park, and Manchester Airport are close by. I took a few photos on an early morning walk in March and will try to post them. :)
